The descriptions of field trips below are from YSP 2005 and 2006.  Some changes occur each year due to scheduling issues.

Lake Tahoe

Bodega Bay

Mt Lassen Camping Trip

Monterey

San Francisco


Lake Tahoe Research Station and Kings Beach
Participants will tour the Lake Tahoe Research Station and travel out on Lake Tahoe aboard the UC Research Vessel Following the tour and study, students will travel to Kings Beach for a relaxing afternoon of swimming, volleyball, and picnic dinner.  


 
Bodega Marine Lab and Beach
Students will tour the Bodega Marine Lab and Ecological Preserve.  The tour will be followed by lunch on the beach north of Bodega Bay.










Mount Lassen
Camping Trip
Students will travel to MacArthur-Burney Falls State Park for lunch before proceeding to the Subway Caves and setting up camp at Butte Lake Campground. Before dinner, students will take a hike to Cinder Cone. After breaking camp on Sunday, the participants will climbed Mt Lassen or hike to Bumpass Hell Sulfur Hot Springs (weather and snow conditions permitting) before returning to Davis in time for dinner.






Monterey Bay Aquarium and Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk
Students will visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium on historic Cannery Row in Monterey before travelling to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and pier.  Students enjoy three hours at the Boardwalk and beach with a picnic dinner, shopping, games and rides.


Alcatraz, San Francisco, Golden Gate Bridge
 

Students will tour Alcatraz Island before spending several hours at Pier 39 and Fisherman's Warf.  The group enjoys a picnic dinner at Fort Point/Crissy Field before walking north across the Golden Gate Bridge and a returning to campus.
